The cipuk is
a veiles especially of sasak indigeous which is located in Lombok Island, West
Nusa Tenggara, Indonesian. The cipuk has the shape of square , multicoloured like yellow, red,
black, blue, and etc. The cipuk matter is yarn, which made by sasak women using
traditional tools called “ sensek”.
The cipuk
has unique meaning which can make the people identify, and knows the sasak
women status like single, widow, or marriaged, only seeing how the way the sasak
women wear the veil without asking them again. The first way is that when the
tip of the veil stuck out in front of the ceast which means the women is
single. The second way is that when one of the tip of the veil on the shoulder
which means the women is widow. And the last way is that when all of the tip of
the veil on the shoulder which means the women is was marriage. The cipuk also is as the best a social control for sasak
indigous or another people make us easy to identify them. That uniqe meaning must
be maintened, socializalized, and preserved by us.
Unfortunately, the
young people today is not interest enough with culture, local wisdom, and etc.
Their said it out of date, unstyle, primmitif, ancient, tacky, and etc. That as
the big homework for us to relize them about how important them to keep, and
love the culture, the identity, and the local wisdom as the next generation of this nation.
As a result
there are so many reason about cultivating the local wisdom from erasure
by modernisation, globalization, kapitalis, and westernitation. Those reasons
have relation each other which is cannot be separated, including cipuk as
the local wisdom in sasak indigous, especially of sasak woman identity which
come from the creativity of cultures based on the highest of religion relize in sasak indigous . In fact,
this case explains how important the cultures,
and the identity in our life. Because the
identity is one of the basic human need, that are determine the social
status and character of somebody, include the charactheristic physic or social
culture of somebody ( Dr. Hans J. Daeng ).
Furthermore, some
related theory underfinning about how important the culture, the identity, and
the local wisdom in our life. There are three definition of cultures based on
the researcher,
Such as; A.L Kroeber and Kluchohn in
culture, A Ccritical Review of Concepts and Definition (1952) said culture
as a big concept will be clearer if we specify it detailly into shape, and
content of the culture. Furthermore culture is divided into three shapes of
culture. First is the shape as a complex idea, concept, and human thought called
culture system. Second is shape as a complex activity called cocial system
Third is shape as noun called physical culture. Meanwhile (Soerjanto Poesporwardojo, 1989; 218-219)
said that the culture is all over process and growing result of human from generation to generation for the better
human life. On the other side, Ashley
Montage said culture is a way of life which radiate a certain identity of a
nation.
After all, to
defend the culture, and the local wisdom as the identity of nation, and indigous.
The role of the goverment, scholar of islam, scholar of customs are very important.
First the goverment give the policy about how important to keep the local
wisdom minimally with wear the traditional thing once a week, then scholar of
islam give suggestion when him speech in front of him community about how important the cultures,
and local wisdom as the identity, in order the citizen relize how important it.
The last is a scholar of customs must be give the imformation for the citizen
more interesting than before.
